Finding an Intimate (GYN) Healthcare Provider

Finding a primary intimate healthcare provider (OBGYN or Midwife) is an important step in maintaining your intimate, reproductive and overall health. When looking for an intimate healthcare provider, it's important to consider the following factors:

  1. Insurance: Make sure the provider you choose is covered by your insurance plan. Candescent Health and Wellness is in network with Anthem, BlueCross Blue Shield, CHA, Aetna, Meritain, Humana, United Healthcare. Candescent Health and Wellness provides a SuperBill for clients whose insurance companies are not in network with. Cash Pay Clients also receive a 30% discount on all services which would otherwise be covered by insurance.

  2. Location: Candescent Health and Wellness is conveniently located in South Bend, IN.

  3. Specialties: Claire specializes in vulvovaginal care, GYN Care, Menopause Management, sex counseling and education, and aesthetics. Claire has a close relationship with several local physical therapists if a client requires pelvic floor physical therapy.

  4. Personal comfort: It's important to find an intimate healthcare provider with whom you feel comfortable discussing sensitive issues. Consider scheduling a complementary consultative phone call to meet Claire before making a decision.

  5. Reviews and recommendations: Look for reviews and recommendations from other patients or healthcare providers. With nearly a decade in women’s health, and practicing in this community for 5 years, Claire has many positive recommendations from previous clients and patients.

When you have decided to move forward with Candescent Health and Wellness, you may schedule an appointment for your first visit. Plan for an hour long visit for your initial visit. This will allow you and Claire to become more familiar with each other, Claire will take your complete health history, and a physical exam. The two of you will work together to determine your overall health needs and you will develop an individualized healthcare plan. We invite you to bring anyone you find supportive and necessary at that appointment, this is your healthcare, and your comfort is valued.

It's important to have a good relationship with your GYN, so don't be afraid to switch providers if you're not satisfied with the care you're receiving.

Your health is worth the effort it takes to find the right provider for you.
